New library computer system going live!
Our new system, called Talis, will be ‘going live’ on Wednesday 25th June 2008. Much work has been completed in the last 3 months without disruption to our normal services, however we must close down the old system on Sunday 22nd June to prepare for the changeover.
From Monday 16th June the on-line facilities for renewing items, reserving items and searching the catalogue will not be available for a short period but we expect that these services will be restored on or soon after Wednesday 25th June.
Internet access to the Netloan PC booking site will not be possible from Sunday 22nd until Wednesday 25th June.
All Bradford libraries will be closed on the 23rd and 24th June to allow the new computer system to be installed and will re-open as normal from 25th June. Items can be renewed by telephone or by visiting your local library up to Saturday 21st June. On the closed days staff will be available to answer telephone queries, they will have limited access to some information sources and will try to help with any enquiries as much as they can. Overdue charges will be waived for the closed days.
We are working hard to keep this period of disruption to a minimum and apologise for any inconvenience this necessary disruption to our service may cause.
We hope that you will appreciate the improvements that Talis will offer and bear with our staff while they learn to get the best from the new system.
